Radar - Britney Spears

I'm slightly disappointed in this Britney.
This looks like a Ralph Lauren commercial.
I would have opted for a more Toxic-esque music video.
The song has that Bond vibe... just a thought.

Hold onto your panties...

Maxwell's BET '09 Performance of Pretty Wings...

no words necessary.

"Did you NOT get my message?"

I just finished watching Obsessed starring Idris Elba, Beyoncé, and Ali Larter...
and OMFG... the fight scene between B and Ali is intense...

If you haven't seen the movie and plan on seeing it,
don't watch the below clip if you don't want the ending spoiled for you...

I just have to say... this is one of the reasons I LOVE Beyoncé... and why she's a diva.

Even in stillettos, she kicks some serious psycho-bitch ass.

Thoughts on Death...

"I think about death all the time. I rehearse my death.
I think that’s a healthy thing to do.
Death, after all, is what gives life meaning
the way noise gives meaning to silence."
-Jane Fonda

Top Model Ferocity...

Yesterday, I decided to just breeze through the entire cycle 2 of Canada's Next Top Model...
one moment, during the seventh episode got me to thinking...
when was top model at its most fierce [both America's and Canada's]...
so here I am to share them with you...
feel free to disagree...
but these were the fiercest moments imo...

America's Next Top Model
Cycle 10 - Episode 5
[Whitney's season]

[Skip Ahead to 3:10]

I wet my pants every time I watch this...
it is just soo HOT DAMN!!!

Canada's Next Top Model
Cycle 2 - Episode 7
[Rebecca's Season]

Rebecca, Tara, and Sinead were my favorites from the beginning...
and look at that, they each made it to the final 5...
I should totally be a casting agent... lol

Overall, I think Canada has a better show...
but out of these two moments...
America has them beat...
I can't get enough of Benny Ninja.

The Reeling - Passion Pit

If I can somehow score a single for the fall semester,
this is what I want my dorm room to look like.
Don't understand?
Just wait till I do it, and I'll post pics.

D.O.A. - Jay Z

Notice how his hair looks...
I want mine like that.

Street Lights - Kanye West

So Music Mondays rolls on with a new video from Kanye.
It's really cool that he's releasing videos for songs
that aren't and probably never will be singles.
Keep it up.

Good Girls Go Bad - Cobra Starship

It's finally here!!!
Leighton Meester looks soo faboosh in those reddish-orange pumps.
Fangs Up!!!

You're A Jerk - New Boyz

I love this video... the song is so annoying, but catchy.

I Know - Jay Z

In case it hasn't been evident by my last few posts and updates to my myspace...
I am in a current fever of Zoe Kravitz...
she is just so beautiful to me, and extremely talented...
her style inspires me, he music excites me, and her acting
[I'm tracking down everything she's been in so I can testify]

Here she is in Jay Z's video for his song, I Know...
I like the song and the video, but I adore her,
and I think she really brings this video to life.

In Remembrance...

Cole Haan f/w 2009

With an economy that comes closer to resembling the 1920’s each day, there’s no better time than now to dress like you’re spending the night at the Speakeasy.

This summer, Cole Haan introduces modern shoes with an old soul (just not an old sole) in their new capsule collection Cole, Rood & Haan Co. They’re both named for and inspired by Cole Haan’s original brand, which began 81 years ago in 1928. Carrying a feeling of freedom, youth and classic American style, the shoes range from riding boots to relaxed boat shoes; the whole collection comes in brown or black leather.

Keep an eye out for their 2009 release and pick up a pair before they, once again, become part of the past.

I really love what is going on here... I think I know where my paychecks will be going.

Savior Self - Cree Summer

I discovered this video through Zoe Kravtiz' wikipedia entry...
and I am in love... such a beautiful video and song.

Cree achieved stardom on The Cosby Show spin-off, A Different World.
She also lends her voice in many popular cartoon series
like The Rugrats (Suzie) and Drawn Together (Foxy Love).

Check out her
Myspace and Official Website for more info.

I'm speechless.

i CRAVE!!!

Okay... it may be the nostalgic effect of
these two gadgets... but I really want them.

Lego has teamed up with electronics company Digital Blue to create a series of Lego inspired electronics... along with the 2G Mp3 player [holds up to 1000 songs], and the 3MP Digital Camera, there is also an AM/FM Boombox Radio [with a cd player]... all the products retail for under 60 bucks... so you can enjoy the resurgence of your childhood at a reasonable price.

NSMT... through the eyes of Jaguar Love

I'm going to the show tonight at the Rock & Roll Hotel in Northeast DC.
I've been anticipating the Nylon Summer Music Tour since the beginning of May...
and I was beyond excited when I found out I'd won tickets to the show.

Patrick Wolf headlines, along with the Plastiscines, Living Things, and Jaguar Love opening.

I'm ready to shake it up, bounce around, shout profanities, lose my keys, and party hard.

Pics and/or video will be up when it becomes available. =]]]

For more info, or to see if they will be coming though your town
[which seems a little unlikely considering the tour is about half over]
Then click here.

:The Story:
When I was young, I placed my baby teeth under my pillow and when i woke up I'd find a shiny new quarter. But whatever happened to those little teeth? Where did they go? Would I ever see them again?
Many years later, a little tooth was standing at my door. It looked familiar. It's name was ickle. Welcome home, my milk toof!

This is a very adorable tale of two friends, as documented through photos...
I've fallen in love with the twosome... or should I say TOOTHsome... lol...
Mozzie on over to My Milk Toof and catch up with the pair.

House Call... click click click.

The doctor will see you now - online.

There are a million excuses for not going to the dermatologist. You’re too tired, you’re too busy, you’re too overwhelmed.

It’s particularly true when it comes to seeing someone like Dr. Zein Obagi, a beloved Beverly Hills derm whose office examinations cost about the same as our monthly rent. You’d see him if you could, but geography, money, work, and life keep getting in the way.

But now, Dr. Obagi is making it even easier to get your skincare questions answered. He recently launched a virtual office, where you can log-on, get a long-distance examination, and get his tips, all through the internet.

Think of it as a house call for the 21st century. And while it might sound a bit sketchy, it’s anything but; there is a detailed questionnaire to answer, and “patients” can even submit a photo, so that Dr. Obagi gets a clear idea of just what your skin problems are. While he can’t write a prescription for you or give you a quick facial, you’ll get a detailed explanation of what you can do.

And the only thing better than getting rid of the doctor’s waiting room? Getting rid of it for free; through August, Dr. Obagi’s online consultations are completely free. Which means that you officially have no excuse not to get your skin checked out. If only our dentist could do the same thing…

Sunrise, Roses, and Cigarettes.

Daylight - Matt & Kim
(download is after the jump)

Last night, I opened myself up more than I ever have before...
and wow, who knew being completely vulnerable could be that hard.

I'm glad I did it... and now I feel refreshed...
still sad, and confused, and incomplete...
but better nonetheless.

As a word to the wise, never take anyone in your life for granted,
because a day will come when you wake up and realize they are no longer there...
and when that happens, you'll realize how truly influential they were to you.

Enjoy the free download.

More Emma Watson amazingness...

If you remember, a couple weeks back,

Well Teen Vogue has chosen her for their August 2009 cover girl...
and I must say, the pictures are beautiful, she looks exquisite.

Tetro from Francis Ford Coppola and Away We Go from Sam Mendez
Both were really entertaining... I suggest everyone go see Away We Go... and those that are truly into independent cinema go see Tetro...

Flats Out of a Vending Machine?
After dancing the night away in heels, female club-goers in Britain can still enjoy a comfortable trek home thanks to new vending machines that sell flats for just 5 pounds (about 8 bucks) a pair. "After getting tired of giving my girlfriend a piggyback home every Saturday night, I had a 'eureka' moment," says Rollasole founder Matt Horan of his clever invention. They aren't available in the US just yet, but shoe designer Eileen Shields—who counts Angelina Jolie as a fan—sells party slippers that are flexible enough to fold up and stash in your bag until you've hit your stiletto pain threshold. From June 12 to July 12, InStyle.com readers will get a free pair of fold-away party slippers with the purchase of full-priced heels. Just enter the code "InStyle Party Slipper" in the special instructions box when you place your order at Eileenshields.com. Trust us, your feet will thank you.

'Wild Things' intrigue me.

Think you've read Where the Wild Things Are?

Well, you have, and it's an undisputed classic. But this fall Dave Eggers' interpretation of Wild Things arrives at around the same time we'll see Spike Jonze's adaptation of the children's tale on the big screen.

Eggers' tie-in novel runs 300 pages and is loosely based on Maurice Sendak's book. You can pre-order it on Amazon.

McSweeney's plans to publish a special "fur edition" of the novel, and they just sent me an early peek at the cover. It looks quite cuddly.

The Wild Things book arrives in stores Oct. 1. The film opens Oct. 16.

Broken Hearted Girl - Beyoncé

Simplicity is a great color on B.

A Classic Re-Imagined.

The classic fabric, khaki, will get a much needed facelift
with the CFDA/Gap Design Edition collection.

The collection, which is stores TODAY, features designs by
Alexander Wang, Vena Cava, and Albertus Swanepoel.

For those living in Manhattan,
you can look forward to the designers being at the flagship store on
5th Avenue at 54th Street at 10:30 am to celebrate the launch.

I'm really loving those khaki pants with the
doodled graphics at the pockets and on the knee.

Check out
Gap.com for more information.

Lanvin Cruise 2010

I don't know what to make of Alber Elbaz' latest collection.

Love/Hate it? Thoughts?

Balenciaga Resort 2010

Nicolas Ghesquiere is a genius.

What can I say... he's talented.

The man's work seriously skirts the line between high fashion and pornographic...
but for someone who uses a simple one-click camera to produce his images...
that's worth some serious recognition.

Many of his images are NSFW, so I didn't post them...
but you can check them out for yourself at his website.

I Got A Feeling - The Black Eyed Peas

This has me wanting to go to LA so bad right now.

The song, I didn't like at first, but I love it now.
A cool summer anthem.

La Fame.

This is a quite old short film done by Lady GaGa in promotion of her album...
but it still makes me giddy and excited...

Friends [vol.3]

"A friend is one to whom one may pour out all the contents of one's heart,
chaff and grain together, knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it,
keep what is worth keeping and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away."
-Arabian Proverb

Steven, you are by far one of the first guy friends I've had
that I can say I would hope to still be friends with when I'm 50.
I want you at my retirement party...
I wanna hear all about your travels around the world.
I learn so much from you, and I value you so so much.
Sometimes, at 11.11... I hope to be as cool as you.

No one has all the answers to the world's problems...
but I see you being one that won't live ignorantly amongst them.
For that, I admire you.

Please never let this candle of ours burn out.
As long as I'm alive, I'll carry a book of matches.

P.S. I had my phone interview with Curve Magazine yesterday.
Long story short... it went really well.
I'm going to try not to stress myself out with the whole dilemma of
"What do I choose, San Francisco or New York City???"
Instead, I'm going to just watch it all play out on its own...
and enjoy the whirlwind adventure called My Life that I'm on.

Wish me Luck.

Calvin Klein f/w 2009 Men's Collection

Those neoprene jackets... I want one So so SO BAD!!!
I've mentioned it before, but I'm so serious.
I found something close to it in my mother's closet...
I plan on rocking it come september... look for it.

A dream deferred... no more.

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

-Langston Hughes-

This dream shall no longer be just a dream, but rather a reality.
Yesterday, I opened my acceptance letter from Fordham University.
My mom had been holding on to it for weeks, and just remembered she had it.
The word "Congratulations" popped off the page at me.
All that I'd worked so hard for, wanted for so long now,
was finally becoming a reality.

The question then becomes...
Do I leave behind all that I have grown so accustomed to,
or do I go after my dreams, and take control of my future?

In life, we all have decisions like these to make...
whether to leave our comfort zones for bigger, better opportunities...
or "leave it in God's hands" and hope that the door will reopen for us in the future.
Well, I'm not one for prayer, or using God as an excuse not to act.
So I am going to go for it.

In the words of my close friend Monique:
"It's your life! At the end of the day,
you have to do what's best for you..."

She's totally right.

I got into Fordham University at Lincoln Center.
My college is in the Upper West Side.
I'll finally be in New York City!!!

Wish me luck.

You're Welcome.
